At Least They Don’t Wear Capes

Catching up on Fallout 3 over the last few days, I finally went down and completed the RobCo quest, though there wasn’t much to it. After that I headed to the Arlington Library to complete Moira’s quests, where I finally ran into the Brotherhood of Steel for the first time. Their Citadel was nearby, but I couldn’t figure out how to get in, as the intercom didn’t do anything.

Then I just wandered around for a while, revealing more spots on the map and gaining a couple of levels. I pumped up the small guns and energy weapon skills a lot, and now I’m doing a lot more one-shot kills when I manage to get criticals to the head.

Figuring I should get back to the quests I’d already started, I set out in search of The Family and found them deep in a train station. They turned out to be vampires, of all things, but relatively peaceful ones, and I managed to arrange a deal between them and the town of Arefu rather than slaughtering them.

After that I then headed over to the previously-discovered Vault 106, just out of curiosity. It turned out to be rather ruined and populated by insane survivors who attacked me. Every once in a while the colour would shift and I’d start seeing hallucinations, and it turns out there was some kind of gas-using experiment done in that Vault. It doesn’t seem to have any relevance to the main plot right now, though.

Next up, stealing history…
